Do I need a Meal Plan if I live on campus?
Yes, all CCSU residents must have a Meal Plan. Freshmen are required to select from the Blue Devil Essential or the Blue Devil Essential Plus. Transfer Students and Upperclassmen may choose any meal plan option. You will select your meal plan when you register for on-campus housing.
Can I have a meal plan if I live off campus?
Yes, we also offer 2 block style plans exclusively to those community members who live off campus. Commuters, faculty & staff also have the option to purchase any of the the resident meal plans should you feel one of those options will better meet your needs.

How do I purchase a Meal Plan?
Resident students will select a meal plan during the housing enrollment process. Commuters, faculty & staff can purchase a meal plan HERE. For questions regarding plans, please contact Residence Life at reslife@ccsu.edu or 860.832.1660.
I have specific eating requirements. I am vegetarian or vegan, have food sensitivities and/or allergies. Do you have options for me?
In our Resident Dining locations, we offer a large variety of Vegan and Vegetarian options. As well as an all vegan servery, available for lunch and dinner. The "Simple Servings" station has menus which exclude milk, eggs, wheat, soy, shellfish, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, and gluten from our daily menus. How do I eat if I am sick or injured and cannot leave my room?
You can make arrangements through the Health Services on campus or, by contacting Jeff Dressler, General Manager.
Can I share my Meal Plan or use it for guests?
Meal plans are non-transferable and cannot be shared. You are able to use your Flex Dollars to purchase a meal for a guest joining you in one of the Resident Dining Halls. We also accept cash, card, and Blue Chip from non-meal plan holders.
Can I use my Meal Plan Dollars at the Vending Machines?
Vending machines are separate from campus dining and accept cash, credit and Blue Chip dollars. Just Baked Vending accepts meal plan dollars as well as all other forms of payment.
How many Flex Dollars do I have left?
You can check your Flex Dollar balance HERE. Flex Dollars expire at the end of each semester.
Do I need Flex Dollars and Blue Chip? What's the difference?
Flex Dollars come on every Resident dining plan and can be used for purchases at any of our on-campus dining locations where meal swipes are not accepted. Blue Chip is the CCSU campus currency and is accepted like cash or credit at all on-campus dining locations as well as elsewhere on and off campus.
Do Flex Dollars carry over at the end of the semester if there is a remaining balance?
Flex Dollars expire at the end of each semester and do not roll over.
Can I buy a birthday cake or gift for my student, a roommate or a friend?
Yes, you can choose from the packages that we offer under "Gifts & More".
Can a meal be provided to a group of students for a special event?
